2021. What is there to say?

We’re so beyond exhausted, dealing with the pandemic, selfish assholes, and politics. Sad, ugly news bombards us daily, affecting our mental and emotional health, and many times, causing panic, anxiety, or depression.

How to cope with the reality of this pandemic and how we deal with it when we’re feeling tired and vulnerable? Here are my own suggestions that work.

1. Turn Off Social Media

This is a tough one. People hire me to handle their social media, so not being on it isn’t truly possible for me. Not only do I find and schedule content, but I also monitor, respond, and connect with people to grow the accounts and build relationships.

Many writers tell me it’s not possible for them to do book marketing and writing, as well as live a full and satisfying life.

So, don’t.

Every writer must decide for themselves how to handle social media (or to bother with it at all). If you don’t want to, you get to own that decision as an adult. Book marketing and social media are what you make them. If you don’t, that’s on you to decide.
