Excellent explanation, Zach. Many writers are intimidated by writing poetry for fear of the 'rules,' when in point of fact, it's one of the most freeing ways to write!

Funny: a follower on FB, after I shared a poem I'm working on, told me it's NOT a poem because it doesn't rhyme. LOL. When I pointed out the hundreds of types of poetry, she said she didn't care. If it doesn't rhyme, it's not poetry.

I don't like FB. :)
