That’s a popular theme in the comments and messages writers are sending me — what about structure? And to be honest, that tripped me up for the longest time!

As I mention in the first point about Creative Nonfiction opening up my world, that’s where I found my home. The structure can be pretty much whatever works for you. Realizing that FOR ME, that meant the essays and poetry I put together really did ‘fit,’ into a nonfiction genre, if that makes sense.

In my next post, I’m discussing BISAC categories, and how what we write has to be marketed into these categories, which can feel restrictive (but makes sense). I will also cover writing exercises to get that first draft out of the dusty drawer. 🥰
