I admire your honesty in this post, Chris. For many women, “having it all” is not possible without outside help and there’s absolutely no shame in needing and getting the help you need.

Gendered roles are clearly at play in the workplace and at home (as you can see in the comments here).

Not many people ask dads why they had kids if they still intend to work — it’s unheard of. Ridiculous, almost. Why do we expect moms to do nothing but raise children after educating ourselves and achieving career highs? The imbalance is appalling. Our brains don’t stop working after childbirth.

Shocking, I know — it IS possible to think and mother at the same time AND ask for help and have it be okay. Kudos to you, lady. ✊
