I understand your frustration and sense of loss. If I may, part of this is simply growing up. Her interests changed as she discovered a world outside of her bubble. As the parent of a 21yo daughter and 15yo son, I've been through this twice now.

My 21yo is an art major. Her knowledge of tech has transformed her art career! She teaches digital art at a local gallery to both adults and children/teens. Her work has been shown at several local galleries - some digital, some not. She's also received scholarships and grants because of her digital art.

Now that college is entirely remote, almost everything she does includes tech. She's now learning 3D sculpture using photoshop. Tech has literally transformed everything about her major.

Our kids are digital natives. We are not, and that's something we need to adapt to. Tech is not a horrible monster. It's part of our lives now - how we adapt is up to us.
