Oh, my heart. I don’t know you, Zach, yet I just want to give you a tight hug and tell you it’s okay. It won’t make you hate yourself less — we both know that, which makes me sad. Maybe it will help just a tiny bit.

I’m a childhood sexual abuse survivor and like many of us, we hate our bodies, too. Regardless of our size, we blame them for what happened. I share this not to make you feel bad — only to say that we are kindred in a way. It may not be for the same reasons (or it may be, I don’t know and wouldn’t dare to assume). I only know it’s painful and lonely.

The outside is truly never indicative of the inside.
