Sweet Zada. It's tough at first. I'm so glad you realized that what they said isn't your issue. Here's what I advise all writers, what I've learned the hard way:

Read THE FOUR AGREEMENTS by Don Miguel Ruiz. One of the most important agreements is not to take anything personally. Whatever that person said is about them, not you.

(or as Madonna famously says, "I'm not your bitch, don't hang your shit on me." 😛)

Also: as writers, once our work is out there, we're no longer invited to the party. People can do or say whatever they want about our work, regardless of whether it's wrong, mean, hateful, or even full of praise. We have zero control, except our reaction to it.
