THIS. Excellent explanation. I feel like I’m living it, Ariel. Great work!

My guy is an avid gamer and yea, I knew this going in (we’ve been together now like 6 years now). I don’t game AT ALL. I accepted that about him because he’s a whiz at all things brainy. I truly believe it all ties together.

He wears headphones (thankfully) while I read or watch shows or movies on my iPad. I prefer to write in my office, where I’m not disturbed by the inevitable laughter or “Whoa, dude!” outbursts lol.

I also have a 14yo son who loves gaming. With this pandemic, he’s wanting to be on his Xbox and Discord 24/7. That’s a no from me. However, this is how he’s social. I get it! This is how most kids are social now — via tech. The games are strategic and that’s why he loves it. They build maps and plans together — I love how excited he gets about the planning and teamwork.

Thanks for the eye-opening piece.
