I’ve become great friends with Julie Anderson, former 80s supermodel, now publisher and writer (see https://www.facebook.com/JulieAndersonOfficial/). Seriously gorgeous woman from any angle. Also, human. I’ve seen how horrible people treat her as well as fall all over themselves in her presence. I read the comments on her pieces — how it’s not possible she can experience anything remotely human because ya know, she’s so stunning, completely discounting that she’s survived childhood sexual abuse, rape, and all sorts of other unmentionables.

Yet she does mention these experiences (as do I). It’s how we met. We share the uglies, the not-polite-dinner conversation topics about surviving abuse. The honesty and authenticity are what brings us together, as you showed so beautifully in that conversation with Charlotte. Thank you for being real and showing her (and us) what true friendship can be.
